Tuesday 30th June - walks **** – Nacton Shores – sunny periods and a little cooler.

Passed on Mags early prom walk, cloudy and cooler too then had a lazy start to the day before having breakfast in the garden before doing my exercises while Mag did her daily dead heading:) I then packed a picnic and we drove over to and parked at Nacton Shores walking down through the woods to the River Orwell where the tide was very high but thanks to the new Kings Charles path you can easily get through all the way to Ipswich, the only downside is several dodgy looking men on the path:( It was still cloudy as we made our way up river past the lovely park land that belongs to Orwell Park School with its impressive dead trees and lambs! The new path takes you inland a little way as you can’t get along the beach with the tide in and comes out near the quaint thatched cottage. We find a nice spot next to the small old concrete dock for our top picnic while watching 7 dinghies with kids enjoying a nice breeze having launched from Woolverstone Marina. The sun starts to break through the clouds as we head back and I get a nice pic of the dead tree which Alex uses on tonight’s BBC Look East, it’s been a good month for weather pics with 11 being featured! Mag drags a twisty section of tree trunk covered in ivy for the garden and we stop at the entrance to Levington Marina to take a couple of shots of the barley field and home for a welcome cuppa and ice cream cone, we know how to live. Once again the breeze had picked up enough to foil but I have been out 13 times this month already and couldn’t face all that setting up so decided to give it a miss but I do hope to get out on Thursday!
